It’s amazing to think that Easy Living Home Elevators has been around for merely 20 years. Having achieved so much in that time and experienced such incredible growth, it’s a testament to all the work put in by the entire team that has been with us since day one – which was all the way back in 1998.
In the time since we established, we have gone from strength-to-strength and have become the number one supplier of residential elevators in Australia. In fact, we have more than 8,000 lifts currently in service, which is over three times more than our nearest competitor.
Easy Living began two decades ago when founder Robert Pizzie and a former colleague of his found a gap in the market whilst attending the Interlift 99 elevator trade show in Germany; it was that no company at that time was selling the Italian-made DomusLift in Australia, apart from a couple of one-off sales.
From there, the venture began to bring the DomusLift to Australia. It took two years to get the product certified and another 10 months before the first few sales came through. Fast forward 20 years, and who would have thought that we’re selling upwards of 600 lifts per year.
Having had previous experience with elevator companies, Robert was no stranger to selling and installing lifts. And in 2001, Easy Living took a giant stride in the market, taking its sales from 3 to 28 lifts in 12 months. How did it become this successful so quickly? Because the Easy Living elevators were niche products that offered great value, looked brilliant and came with outstanding customer service
With clear growth on the horizon, Easy Living then grew in size, with additional installers joining the team. The key to the recruitment process at the time was that the newest members of the family didn’t have to have extensive industry experience, but they had to be committed to the company and fit the culture. That philosophy is still intact to this day.
As our team continued to grow, so did the opportunities in the market. More Australians wanted our products and it led to the business expanding interstate. Today, we service thousands of residential and commercial properties across the entire country, including major companies such as McDonalds, David Jones, Westfield, Commonwealth Bank and Westpac, as well as several well-known buildings and hotels such as the Sydney Opera House, Rod Laver Arena, Eureka Towers (Vic), Burswood Casino (WA) and many more.
